Hello!
I'm Hannah, professional book nerd.
I've worn many different hats in the book business and beyond, but the work that excites me most is at the intersection of reader-centered content and user-
centered design. I live in Seattle with my three-legged cat and my library card.
This site will give you a little more information about my background and projects. If you want to connect, work together, or debate the best Jane Austen screen adaption, send me an email!
In publishing I've worked as a freelance developmental editor, web editor for a trivia site, intern at Sasquatch Books, and editorial apprentice at Andrea Hurst & Associates. I earned an editing certificate and a BA in creative writing from Western Washington University, then ventured to New York City to attend the Columbia Publishing Course. I currently provide editing services to Laura Rennert, executive agent at the Andrea Brown Literary Agency.
Bringing people together to learn and build community is one of the most satisfying aspects of my work. In my current role, I plan conferences, webinars, and other events for libraries and professional associations, including the Association for Rural & Small Libraries.
When I'm not working with language, I love to communicate messages through visual design. After designing graphics, logos, and layouts in nearly every job role I've had, I decided to get formal training by completing a certificate in graphic and digital design from Parsons School for Design at The New School.
